This policy explains how Pheromosa handles information when you use pheromosa.com. You can browse the public fragrance catalogue without a visitor account. We do not operate a checkout or collect payment details for fragrance purchases.
Your saved fragrances
Favorites and comparison selections are saved in your browser using local storage so they remain available when you return on the same browser and device. These lists are not synced to a visitor account. You can remove individual selections in the site or delete them by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. Browser settings or private browsing may prevent selections from being saved.
When you open favorites or compare fragrances, the selected fragrance identifiers are sent to our server to retrieve the relevant catalogue entries. Comparison identifiers, searches and filters can appear in page or request URLs and may be included in technical logs.
Site requests and service providers
Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes requests to serve and protect the site. Technical information may include your IP address, browser information, requested URL, request time and response status. We use operational information to keep the site working, investigate errors and address abuse. Log retention depends on the provider’s service and configuration. See Vercel’s privacy notice.
The hosted fragrance catalogue is stored with Neon. Catalogue requests are processed by our server and database to return matching records; the database does not provide visitor accounts or store your saved library as an account profile. See Neon’s privacy policy.
Cookies and buy-link counts
Pheromosa sets no cookies and embeds no advertising or marketing analytics scripts. Favorites and comparisons use local storage, as described above.
When you select a “Buy now” link, your browser sends our server a short message naming the retailer offer and where on the page the link was (for example, the buy box or the mobile buy bar). We add one to a daily total for that offer and placement. We do not store your IP address, a visitor or session identifier, or any other information about you with these totals, and they cannot be linked to you. We use them to understand which pages and placements help people find a retailer.
Information you send us
If you contact us using the channel listed on our contact page, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, reply address and message. We use it to respond to your enquiry, review corrections or rights requests, and maintain the related correspondence. Please include only the information needed for your request. Correspondence may be handled by the communication provider used for that channel and retained as needed to address the enquiry and related obligations.
Retailer and affiliate links
Following a brand or retailer link takes you to another website, where that operator’s privacy and cookie policies apply. Our affiliate links include an identifier for Pheromosa’s publisher account and, for Awin and Rakuten links, a short label for where on the page the link was placed. When you follow a link, the retailer or affiliate network may process the referring page, your IP address and browser information, and use cookies or similar technology to attribute a purchase and calculate a commission. Twisted Lily links pass through Awin, FragranceNet links pass through Rakuten Advertising, and Amazon links go to Amazon. We identify earning links where they appear. These are outbound links; we do not embed Awin, Amazon Advertising or Rakuten tracking scripts on catalogue pages. See Awin’s privacy policy and Amazon’s privacy notice for their practices. Your choices and questions
You can manage local storage and cookies through your browser. Clearing site data removes saved selections. For a question about this policy or a request concerning information you have sent us, use our contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or object to certain uses. We will consider requests under the rules that apply to them and may need to verify your identity.
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material new data uses will be explained before they take effect, with consent requested where required.
