Pheromosa is an independent fragrance guide. Start with a perfume you already love, see which scents share its character, read every listed note, and follow a link to a retailer that sells it. Purchases and checkout happen with the retailer you choose.

How similar scents are found

Each fragrance’s notes are grouped into note families, so Laotian oud and agarwood both count as oud, and cassis counts as blackcurrant. Two fragrances score higher the more note families they share, with rare shared notes (say, osmanthus) counting for more than common ones (say, musk), and again when they sit in the same fragrance family. We show at most three suggestions from any one house. Retailer commissions play no part in the ranking. A match describes shared ingredients, not how a perfume will smell on your skin.

Where the information comes from

Fragrance names, launch years, listed notes and fragrance-wheel families come from doevent’s perfume dataset (2024), corrected where official brand pages and reputable retailers document something different. Concentrations come from those corrections or from the exact retailer product we link to.

Descriptions are written in our own words. Where a brand or retailer description was available, we say so beside the text and link to it. Every description is checked to make sure it only mentions notes the fragrance lists, and never claims a launch year, concentration, perfumer, longevity or price we can’t support.

Product photographs come from brand and retailer product pages, and we record where each one was found. If you own an image and want it credited differently or removed, please get in touch.
